Douglas McGinity and McGinity Law Firm have represented Louisiana families for over 20 years. You need and deserve fair representation when dealing with an insurance company for a car accident or any kind of accident. Prior to graduating from Louisiana State University and Loyola Law School, Doug served his country as an MP in the United States Marine Corps and is a Veteran of Desert Storm.

Alex Smith
Law Clerk
Alex Smith joined the McGinity Law Firm as a Law Clerk in 2024, after a decade in the petrochemical industry as a senior engineer. Alex earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University, and he is currently seeking a J.D. at Loyola Law School. At McGinity Law Firm, he aims to apply his analytical skills and technical knowledge to ensure fair representation and support for those who might otherwise be overwhelmed by the complexity and resources of their opponents. With a focus on making a tangible difference, Alex is dedicated to bringing a technical, systematic approach to legal challenges, aiming to secure the best possible outcome for the little guy. Alex is a licensed P.E. in Louisiana in Control Systems Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
Jeannie Lafleur
Paralegal
Jeannie Lafleur recently joined the McGinity team as a Paralegal at our new location in Washington Parish. Jeannie was raised in Bogalusa, LA and graduated from Bogalusa High School. After high school, Jeannie attended Southeastern Louisiana University graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in General Management.
Not long after graduating, she went on to run a small delivery business for 8 years which provided her with excellent organizational and time management skills. In 2020, she was given the opportunity to embark on a new journey in the legal field. For three years, Jeannie worked as a Paralegal at a law firm in downtown Covington, specializing in family law, personal injury, and business law. Jeannie also has experience as a deputy clerk from her time at the Washington Parish Clerk of Court.
Jeannie is happy to have the opportunity to work in her hometown again, and she is eager to assist the residents of Washington Parish with their insurance
claims.
Angie Whitehead
PARALEGAL
Angie Whitehead joined McGinity Law Firm in 2024 as a paralegal. Having worked with defense attorneys at Galloway Law Firm and plaintiff attorneys at Richard J. Fernandez, LLC, she has experience with defense and plaintiff clients. Her extensive background allows her to skillfully navigate trial preparation and the ever-changing legal world.
Angie grew up in the small town of Livingston, Louisiana and has resided in Abita Springs for 28 years. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Management with a minor in Psychology. She is active in her community and is always willing to go above and beyond for her clients, friends and family.
